Featured Chef:
Chef India Johnson aka The Sauce Queen
Chef De Cuisine
Born into a Trinidadian and African American family, Chef India is originally from Queens N.Y., partially raised in Asheville N.C., and currently resides in Atlanta GA. Chef India grew up inspired by all cuisines. Early on while being the Chef favorite amongst friends, she was persuaded to start cooking professionally and spent several years working with and being mentored by many seasoned local Atlanta Chefs.
Much of Chef India’s cooking style; a fusion style and interpretation of Caribbean and Southern cuisines, has been mostly inherited from her Trinidadian father who is also a creative and experimental Chef. The exposure of learning from her dad, working with other Chefs, along with her personal experiences regarding food, has allowed her to develop and increase her knowledge of this ever-growing industry.
Chef India worked years towards building her clientele and reputation as a Private Chef and currently operates a breakfast and lunch concept in Adair Park. Focusing on the ideal of accessible and sustainable food, much of Chef India’s products and offerings are based on fresh, local, and classic ingredients made with cultural and exotic twists with the at-home cook in mind.
